Dov arrived in Budapest in 1942 and started to learn carpentry. He lived with another five youngsters who were members of “Hehalutz Hatzair”, later ‘Dror’. He assisted in the absorption of refugees arriving in the capital from Poland and the Carpatho-Ruthenia region. Following the German occupation of Hungary on 19.3.1944, Dov used forged Aryan documents and took part in a variety of underground activities. He built bunkers, organized the escape route to the Romanian border (the tiyul), supplied forged documents and was a liaison person for the members of the underground.
At the end of June 1944 he left Hungary on the train of the Relief and Rescue Committee and, via Bergen-Belsen, he arrived in Switzerland. From there he arrived in Eretz Israel (Palestine)where he joined a group of Aliyat Hanoar in Kibbutz Daphna. Dov was one of the founders of Kibbutz Parod. Later he moved to Kibbutz Givat Brenner. He was drafted and served in the army for two years. Dov fought in the War of Independence.
Dov resided in Kfar Daniel. He was married to Shlomit and they had four children and four grandchildren.
